Vincent Willem van Gogh, the Dutch painter is among the most famous and influential figures in Post-Impressionism. His use of color, dramatic brushwork and mastery of form has influenced artists of the last two centuries. In just over a decade he created about 2,100 artworks, including over 860 oil paintings, most of them during the final years of his life. Van Gogh’s art did not become popular until after his death and has since sold at global auctions for record-breaking sums. Signed and dated “Oleanders” on canvas front, oil on canvas, (60.3cm x 73.70 cm). Painted still life made in Arles in August of 1888.
