uShip is an online shipping marketplace to price, book, and ship items. Founded in 2003 by Matt Chasen, uShip’s global platform has attracted over 800,000 service providers—large companies, small fleets, single-truck owners, freight brokers and roadtrippers—that compete for business and offer extra cargo space at a discount. Along with its consumer-focused shipping marketplace, uShip also offers a less-than-truckload carrier-direct marketplace, as well as its enterprise software platform for larger shippers, brokers and third-party logistics companies. In July 2016, it signed an agreement with DB Schenker, a European logistics company, to power Drive4Schenker, an online and mobile-based trucking marketplace. Based in Austin, Texas, and Amsterdam, the company operates globally with localized sites in 19 countries and regions on six continents.
