EquityZen's Late Stage Fund (LSF) targets investments in proven, late-stage private tech companies (like BuzzFeed, Lookout, and Pinterest). The LSF will invest in a basket of companies, providing EquityZen's investor community with diversified exposure to this asset class. Private secondary investments are an ideal asset allocation for a number of different investment groups. Secondaries provide our investors with an opportunity to get exposure to companies before an Initial Public Offering, and additionally participate in the upside seen between early-stage (or “Angel”) financings and later-stage Venture Capital and Private Equity investments. There is no guarantee that the companies invested in by the LSF will conduct an IPO or that the LSF's investments will appreciate in value. Investments made by the LSF are generally in high growth private companies which carry substantial risk of loss.
