EquityZen's Managed Fund Products (Fund) targets investments in proven, late-stage private tech companies (like BuzzFeed, Lookout, and Pinterest). The Fund will invest in a basket of companies, providing EquityZen's investor community with diversified exposure to this asset class. Private secondary investments are an ideal asset allocation for a number of different investment groups. Secondaries provide our investors with an opportunity to get exposure to companies before an Initial Public Offering, and additionally participate in the upside seen between early-stage (or “Angel”) financings and later-stage Venture Capital and Private Equity investments. There is no guarantee that the companies invested in by the Fund will conduct an IPO or that the Fund's investments will appreciate in value. Investments made by the Fund are generally in high growth private companies which carry substantial risk of loss.
EquityZen sources supply from companies with the following characteristics:
• > $10M in Venture Capital funding from top-tier firms
• > 25 employees
• Company valuation between $50 million and $5 billion
• A recent financing round within the last 6-9 months
• Exit time horizon of 1 to 5 years
