About Virgin Hyperloop One Stock
Hyperloop is a new mode of transportation under development to move freight and people quickly, safely, on-demand and direct from origin to destination. Under current proposals, passengers or cargo would be loaded into the Hyperloop vehicle and accelerate gradually via electric propulsion through a low-pressure tube. The vehicle would float above the track using magnetic levitation and glide at airline speeds for long distances due to low aerodynamic drag. Virgin Hyperloop One systems specify construction on columns or tunneled below ground to avoid dangerous grade crossings and wildlife. Engineers are targeting a fully autonomous and enclosed system, eliminating pilot error and weather hazards. Further, the hyperloop technology would operate with no direct carbon emission.
In addition to building hyperloop systems, Virgin Hyperloop is planning to optimize the entire end-to-end passenger experience. The company is working to build an app that allows users to plan, book, and pay for a hyperloop journey as well as other modes of transportation including public, private, and ride-shares using the application. In 2013, Elon Musk first released a research paper outlining the concept of the Hyperloop. However, Elon Musk is neither an investor nor is he affiliated with Virgin Hyperloop One.
