About Fine Wine Fund Stock

EquityZen Fine Wine Fund

A portfolio of fine and rare wines

The EquityZen Fine Wine Fund will be a pooled investment fund focused on acquiring cases of diversified fine wines. Fine Wine, also considered investment-grade wine, is typically sourced from specific regions such as Burgundy and Bordeaux as well as certain producers and vintages from those regions. EquityZen is working with wine advisors and specialists in order to craft the portfolio strategy and acquire the wines in the market.

Why Wine?

  • Wine is a tangible asset with historical data demonstrating return potential similar to other alternative investments
  • Historically less volatile than other alternative investments
  • A low correlation to public equity markets
  • Wine supply is static or falling as it is a consumable asset, whereas demand is increasing due to new markets like Asia
  • The Fine Wine market is about $5B annually, up from $1B in 2004
  • Fine wine can be a great addition to a well balanced alternatives portfolio

What is Fine Wine?

Generally, this term is reserved for exceptional wines from the world's most renowned vineyards, the highest quality grapes and the most acclaimed winemakers. Over a period of years, they've achieved 'blue chip' status — Grand Cru clarets and Burgundies are classic examples. Due to demand, such wines can command anything from around $100 to $1,000 or more a bottle.

How is wine sourced?

We expect that the wine that is subject of investment would be sourced through reputable international wine merchants.

How can it be sold?

Wine would be sold after a holding period (5-7 years) and depending on market conditions. We would work with a specialist to sell the wines in the market through retail, private sales, and auctions.

Where is it stored?

We currently expect the wine will be stored and insured by a third-party wine handler.

What will be the investment minimums?

We currently expect minimums to be the same as those for other EquityZen listings.
