  • Communicate with clients and assist in closing deals on EquityZen’s innovative marketplace for investments in private technology companies
  • Work cross-functionally with deal and legal teams
  • Contribute to transaction optimization, and improving our private marketplace

  • 2+ years’ experience as a paralegal or legal assistant in a transactional group at a top tier law firm; bonus points if you have also worked in-house at an investment bank, hedge fund, PE fund, or VC firm
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong communications skills (verbal, listening and written)
  • Love for deal-making and deal environment
  • Understands time-sensitive deal environment
  • Enjoys structured work (such as working from checklists on repeatable tasks)
  • Anticipates what should be done next and not just await instructions
  • Works hard and smart with attention to detail and relishes working with long, detailed documents
  • Familiarity with securities-related filings (including Form ADV and Form D filings)
  • Experience incorporating comments and edits in transaction documents, compiling information packets for regulators and corresponding with state and federal regulators
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word (including creating redlines), PowerPoint and Excel

  • Experience in private placements, investment funds, capital markets, or FinTech marketplaces
  • Prior experience with KYC or AML 
  • Experience with secondary markets or crowdfunding 
  • Experience with, or interest in, SQL, Kibana/Elasticsearch
  • Licensed New York State notary 
  • Knowledge about the most promising VC venture-backed companies and VC firms
  • Become an expert in deal making, private placements, and marketplaces
  • Exposure to the startup, FinTech, and venture network
